“ We ended up here because four other places were too busy to take us, but I think it was meant to be. Coming from Los Angeles, we were a little wary of Mexican food in Scotland, but damn, that was good food! We ordered some chips and guacamole, taco plates, and had a few drinks. Fun atmosphere, and our server (who was Greek), had a great sense of humor! Would definitely recommend and we will return before our vacation ends! ”
“ This restaurant was excellent! Full stop! I'm traveling through the UK with 3 other friends and we are all from the LA area of California where we have Mexican food all the time, offered at literally thousands of restaurants. We did not expect to find authentic Mexican food in Scotland, but this place is the real deal. We had drinks and tacos, and all of it was incredible. There were dishes on offer that one would expect, but the variety was incredible. There were about 20 different meat (and plant based) taco options. I have never had Suadero tacos (marinated beef brisket), and they were my favorite. The meet is cooked for hours and was tender and flavorful. All of the salsa, guacamole, onions, cilantro, etc. were fresh as well. The service was quick and the servers were attentive to needs. The atmosphere was bright and fun. Lots of decorations and the music provided great energy. Tough this is a great place to have drinks, it is also family friendly. If you are in Edinburgh, I would highly recommend a stop here. ”
“ If you are craving traditional Mexican food, this is the place! Amazing chimichangas and tacos! It is cash only but there are plenty of ATMs nearby. Highly recommend Taco Libre! ”
“ Interior has a Mexican Wrestling theme, great atmosphere, great authentic food. Boss is from Mexico so you do get Mexican food, no TexMex, so as a half Mexican myself I appreciated that. Will definitely be back. Picture of the chicken chimichanga. Food not overly spicy unless you ask for it. ”
“ Popped in for some vegan fish tacos. Ordered two as soon as I walked in and didn’t realize 2 came with each order. I’ve always said a good taco starts at the tortilla, and let me tell you, the fresh corn tortillas were *chefs kiss. The atmosphere was lively and the staff was attentive. Make sure you bring cash because they only take cash payments. There’s an ATM at the nearby grocery market as a helpful hint. I overheard quite a bit customers in the restaurant say their food was delicious. Give this place a go! ”
